#48hbc Update: 53 hours 14 minutes

Hehe, so technically I’m done already. But I couldn’t resist one last post with the time updates. I’ve been feeling pretty hardcore doing this. Even as I tweet, and do the necessities, I’m listening to an audiobook just so I won’t lose any time. Tsk! Next year, I hope to be more laid back. Or train myself to be able to read faster and longer with less eyestrain.

(Sob story: It’s the holidays, so doing this is really MUCH better than chilling at home. All my other friends are still schooling. ): )

I’ll be commenting on everyone’s posts today!

0138h: Zoned out listening to Airman.
0337h: Finished it! Starts Reading Daniel X by James Patterson.
0502h: Daniel X is not to my taste. Very abrupt. Stargazer please don’t disappoint.
0628h: Is disappointed. Still does not like Bianca and Lucas. Only fave character is Balthazar. Reads Just Listen by Sarah Dessen.
0631h: Remembers Korianne has given a bookmark too. Is happy. Giggles. Mum says too much reading and no sleep has corrupted my brain, and that I’m never to do this again. Is on a roll. Last 12 hours to go!
0840h: Finishes Just Listen. Has a new author to check out. Has a nagging feeling. Checks Airman audiobook. Oops. Is not done. Plugs in.
0920h: Is finally done with audiobook. On to The Beef Princess of Practical County.
1140h: Loved it. Was pretty light. Any light reading is loved. On to the Interns: Truth or Fashion.
1314h” Finished it. Was okay. On to Zombie Blondes.
1456h: Another okay book. Is happy with all the light reading. Now on to 3 Willows.
1736h: No idea why I read this. Seems like too much emotional baggage all at once. Maybe too much reading.
1900h: Is reading Shelf Discovery. Challenge over. Marks page, continues reading Shelf Discovery slowly. Goes to sleep.
1909h: Cannot sleep. Reads Shelf Discovery.
0014h: Finishes Shelf Discovery!

One of the best books I’ve read. It’s witty, it’s heartbreaking, it’s strong. I’m like totally in love with Conor (and his treasure).

Daniel X
I didn’t really like the pacing. The chapters seemed too short and too abrupt. Nonetheless, it was an interesting story, just not to my taste.

The plot is definitely a LOT better than the first. I loved finding out more about Balthazar. It’s so easy for Bianca to throw away her parents (especially when they might have been killed) and join Lucas. Maybe I’m being deliberately obtuse, but I just cannot like Bianca. And Lucas? BLEHS. Soooo not a fan.

Just Listen
It’s so detailed and beautifully written! It’s a touching story, and I guess I just found another author to check out. πŸ˜€

The Beef Princess of Practical County
I haven’t read a book about life on a farm, so this was something far different for me. An insightful, light read, I’m glad I read this after reading Just Listen.

The Interns: Truth or Fashion
I haven’t read the prequel, so I have no idea what this is about. The first page (website) drew me in. It was fun reading how they went about their lives at Couture. Reminds me of The Devil Wears Prada.

Zombie Blondes
It’s like a cross between Scott Westerfield’s Pretty series and Amanda Ashby’s Zombie Queen of Newbury High. A fun, light read, I’m recommending this to anyone who loves reading about zombies.

3 Willows
After reading Just Listen, 3 Willows seemed pretty draggy to me. Won’t judge this book until I read it again.

Shelf Discovery
It’s super informative. I loved it, especially since it was written by a bunch of my fave authors.

Will update summary later. Have a great day! πŸ™‚

Wow! So, it’s clear that you read alot, but please, could you tell us how much you actually slept????? Did you sleep?

I’m so glad you liked Airman–I was on the panel that put it on the short list for the Cybils Awards, and so I feel a bit like a proud parent when it gets good reviews!

I love the idea of a countdown clock and hope I remember it for the Fall Dewey Readathon. I have Airman sitting here and will have to move it closer to the top of my TBR pile.

I still can’t believe that you didn’t completely collapse from reading so much. It’s literary overload! But I like your discipline! I don’t think I could ever survive.

I loved Just Listen! Isn’t Owen just awesomeness personified? Have you read The Truth About Forever?
