Update (As of February 9, 2012)

Hi everyone! Things have been a wee bit hectic with prelims coming soon. I've read loads of books meanwhile, and hope to post more reviews soon rather than leaving them in Draftsland. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Authors/publicists: I'm currently not accepting any review requests as stated in the updated policy, but I do so appreciate that you consider this blog a worthy avenue for your books.

Ahh, Keane

on Saturday, 23 April 2011
This song makes me so nostalgic.

Driving on the highway, top down, wind in your hair.
The city skyline in the foreground.

Usually I have this thing where I listen to a song, and it fits perfectly for a scene in a book. But not for these songs, which are classics, in my opinion. They seem to fit better for personal events.

In my mind, it's almost always a montage of two people falling in love. You know: pastel tones; lavender, sepia, light blue; girl-looking-out-the-window-as-the-small-English-road-is-splattered-by-the-rain; romantic-walks-through-fields-of-flowers

...and then falling out of love. Darker, greyish tones; torn photographs; loads-of-soundless-crying-in-room; random-bicycle-through-an-empty-road.

Are there any scenes, be it in books or movies, that might fit?

Now I'm in the mood for some contemporary, literary romances. Books or movies. French or English. Any recommendations?

ETA: Wooo, rollercoaster!

And, oh man, so sad.
