Update (As of February 9, 2012)

Hi everyone! Things have been a wee bit hectic with prelims coming soon. I've read loads of books meanwhile, and hope to post more reviews soon rather than leaving them in Draftsland. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Authors/publicists: I'm currently not accepting any review requests as stated in the updated policy, but I do so appreciate that you consider this blog a worthy avenue for your books.

Margaret Stohl Book Signing (Singapore)

on Saturday, 10 December 2011
Margaret Stohl was in town yesterday (9 December 2011) and a few lucky readers and I got to meet her!  Margie was in the middle of conducting a few interviews with some regional publications, and kind and gracious to wait for us as we rushed to meet her.

We rushed through the pouring rain (how dramatic) and were drenched when we met her. Margie is super sweet and nice, and we were all starstruck. Loads of babbling on my part. Got our books signed, photos taken, squees uttered. We met the lovely MPH publicist, and a nice gentleman. All of them were very welcoming despite the fact that we might have crashed a few interview sessions.

You know she waited an extra hour just to meet my friend, an absolute fan of her, who rushed all the way from school to meet her. And she called us sweet. What only. * blushes*

Amazing. I'm still inwardly squeeing.

So hey, you people in Singapore now. There are three events you can find Margie at tomorrow (10 December 2011).
Prologue bookstore at ION Orchard
1.30pm

(It's right above Orchard MRT station.)
Multi-purpose room (B1) at Central Public Library
3.30pm
(Bras Basah, City Hall, Bugis MRTs. You choose.)

Programme Zone at Serangoon Public Library
5.30pm
(near Serangoon MRT/NEX. Don't take my word for it! Better to ask the locals.)

I'll be there at Central PL tomorrow with Sarah and Sanzochan. If any of you are there, say hi! Side note: Why does Serangoon Public Library have all these great author events? Lauren Kate was there a few months ago. Lucky patrons.

Malaysian readers, don't fret! Margie will be heading there right after Singapore, if I'm not wrong. For more details, contact her at her Twitter account (@mstohl).

Margie, me, Sarah, Sanzochan

Polaroid. Proving my point that I don't know how to take photos of photos.

Llehn, did you head on over there? :D Yes, she was about a few months back! I didn't go for it, but I'm super excited to find out that MPH has been organising these events. Hope they'll so more in the future... Suzanne Collins? One can hope!

Myra: Aw! I hope you'll be able to come for the next author event. Heard SWF 2012 has Garth Nix! I can lend you my copies if you want. :)
